Today I abandoned someone to a fate of his own making.
Today I betrayed someone I care deeply for.
To preserve myself I let go.
I will never forgive myself.

sometimes the kindest act is to let the events set in motion by others take their course. Sometimes it is the only way we learn, the only way to grow, the best way to understand. Hard choices harder lessons . .. .. but once the fog of anger or grief or confusion and pain clears the world beyond is a better and more beautiful place.

betrayal is a crueller master. The tasks attendant following betrayal call for relentless and unsparing examination . . . how why what it all means in its beginnings and its endings. One's own fears, weaknesses and failings, the commonest culprits, the strongest motivators to this painful act. The most challenging demands in resolution are those twins of honesty and responsiblility, and the mighty sword of forgiveness. Seeking and giving, one must first learn to forgive oneself.
